Increasing smallholder sales and income through high-value horticulture products

The Kenya Horticultural Development Program mission is to increase and sustain smallholder sales and incomes from the production of high-value and added-value horticultural crops and products (horticulture, floriculture, spices and tree crops). In food insecure areas emphasis is also placed on increasing food production and nutritional value of horticultural crops for home consumption. Related objectives include increasing rural employment opportunities in agriculture, increasing exports and domestic sales of horticultural products, providing market development services and expanding the use of environmentally-friendly and productivity-enhancing farm technologies.
